NearByBooks is a local marketplace that helps people in your community discover, buy, sell, donate, and exchange books. We connect buyers and sellers but are not a party to transactions between users.

2. Eligibility

3. User Accounts

  • You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure.
  • You must not share your account or use another person’s account without permission.
  • We may suspend or remove accounts that violate these terms or misuse the platform.

4. Listings & Transactions

  • Sellers must provide honest descriptions, accurate prices, and clear photos of listed books.
  • Buyers and sellers arrange payment and delivery directly unless we state otherwise.
  • NearByBooks does not guarantee the quality, condition, or availability of any listed book.
  • Donated or free listings must still follow community guidelines and applicable laws.

5. Prohibited Content & Conduct

You may not use NearByBooks to:

  • Post false, misleading, or fraudulent listings.
  • Sell stolen, counterfeit, or illegal materials.
  • Harass, threaten, or abuse other users.
  • Spam, scrape, or attempt to disrupt the platform.
  • Upload content that infringes copyright or other intellectual property rights.

6. Location & Listings

  • When you publish a book, your current location is used as the selling location.
  • When editing a listing, you may adjust the selling location only within the allowed radius set by the platform.
  • You must not misrepresent where a book is available for pickup or exchange.

7. Fees

NearByBooks may offer free and paid features. Any applicable fees will be shown clearly before you use a paid service. Prices and features may change with reasonable notice where required.

8. Content You Submit

By posting listings, messages, images, or reviews, you grant NearByBooks a non-exclusive license to display and distribute that content on the platform. You retain ownership of your content and confirm you have the right to share it.

9. Disclaimers

The platform is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee uninterrupted access, error-free operation, or successful transactions between users.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, NearByBooks is not liable for disputes, losses, damages, or injuries arising from interactions or transactions between users, including in-person meetups.
